IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) is the collective group that defines Internet standards from emerging technologies.
Some recognized IETF standards:
- LDAP - as implemented by the Oracle Internet Directory
- Kerberos - standard for providing authentication
- SMTP - standard for exchanging E-mail
